Foundation stone laying ceremony for our new Head office at Royapettah, Chennai by Hon'ble Union FM Shri P Chidambaram on 9 July 2008


The Foundation Stone for the Indian Bank’s new Head Office building at Royapettah, Chennai was laid today by Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Shri P.Chidambaram. The Bank is presently headquartered at 66, Rajaji Salai, Chennai-1. The new building at Royapettah will be constructed on its own 36.4 grounds of land, with all modern amenities and a built up area of 189000 sq.ft. (Basement, Ground & 3 Floors).

Shri M S Sundara Rajan, Chairman & Managing Director in his welcome address thanked the FM and the Govt. of India for standing by the Bank and said that the Bank accorded the highest priority for offering value added customer services.

The Hon’ble Finance Minister lauded the Bank for providing the best of banking services to diverse segments of the society.

The CMD also presented to the Finance Minister a Dividend Cheque for Rs.35,00,00,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five crores) on Preferential Shares and a cheque for Rs.137,52,80,000/- (Rupees One hundred and thirty seven crores fifty two lakhs and eighty thousands only) towards Dividend on Equity shares held by Govt. of India. Shri A.Subramanian, Executive Director proposed the Vote of Thanks.
